  • Yes! We offer virtual therapy and testing to clients located anywhere in California. Contact us to see if virtual services are a good option for your specific situation.

  • We do not accept insurance at this time. However, we provide a superbill (a bill that includes codes for insurance companies) that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many clients get some or all of the cost of services reimbursed.

  • We require 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your session. Otherwise, you will be charged the full amount of your appointment.

  • The costs of our assessments range from $3,500-7,500, depending on the referral question, history, and age of the client. When you schedule an assessment with us, the cost of your intake session ($325) will be credited towards your assessment. Payment is accepted in two installments. The report will be released to you when the full price of the evaluation has been paid. We operate under a “flat fee” approach; the cost of the assessment includes a records review, interviews and calls with other professionals who work with the client, a school observation (if indicated), testing, scoring, report writing, and a feedback session. We also include a 30-minute parent consultation 6 months after the evaluation is completed if desired by the family.

    Basic IQ or Achievement testing for giftedness evaluations (such as admissions to Davidson Young Scholars) or school applications ranges from $800-1,200. These evaluations include a 30-minute feedback session with parents if desired.

  • Yes, we are happy to attend school meetings (IEP, 504, SST) and will work with you to coordinate scheduling.

Assessment FAQs

  • We tailor the therapeutic approach to the needs of the client and the presenting concerns. In general, our approach incorporates aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and positive psychology.

  • We see clients ranging from 5 to 25 years old, but our expertise is in adolescents (12 to 17) and young adults (18 to 25).

  • We can serve clients with a wide variety of presenting concerns, but we specialize in giftedness, twice exceptionality, perfectionism, anxiety, social issues, and related topics.

  • Depending on the needs of the client, we typically schedule therapy sessions every week, every two weeks, or once per month.

    In many cases, we begin with weekly therapy sessions, and then reduce the frequency of therapy sessions as the client achieves their goals.

  • The length of therapy ranges depending on the client and the presenting concerns.

    We see some clients for 6 to 8 sessions, and we see some clients on an ongoing basis for many years.

  • $250 for a 50-minute session. Every 4 sessions, we offer a 30-minute meeting with parents free of charge to check in regarding progress and goals.
